Great Broker Open House in Destiny East

Just attended a Broker open house in Destiny East subdivison with a great cooking demonstration!  Chef Jekyll was on hand to give a brief but easy cooking demonstration for all the agents on hand.  Chef Jekyll also provided several light appetizers that included, garlic shrimp, smoked mackerel and my favorite, goat cheese almond grapes!  Simple but eloquent and very tasty!

The main treat for the day was a cooking demonstration by Chef Jekyll where he showed how to prepare and cook Jekyll’s Baked Oysters with Leeks and Pancetta.  Starting with a dozen oysters on the half shell he then put together a nice sauce of Leeks, Pancetta, cheese and some special seasonings.  The next step was to spoon the sauce over the oysters, sprinkle with bread crumbs and then in the oven for several minutes.  Truly an amazing dish coming from a person that does not like raw oysters!  I could have eaten a dozen of these easy!
This was a great way to show off the home with its beautiful gulf views and its ability to handle a medium size party with ease.  The cooking demonstration also showed off the well-appointed kitchen that was put to the test by a gourmet chef!

Sometimes it takes thinking outside of the box to show off the true features and benefits of a home to a room full of agents that can now convey this to their buyers.

Cobia Fishing in Destin, Florida!

Guess what time is coming near?  ….. Cobia fishing along the panhandle of Florida!  Cobia fishing can be described as hours of boredom mixed with moments of extreme excitement!  Cobia fishing is truly an exhilarating experience because the techniques involved area combination of hunting and fishing.  Cobia is a migrating fish that move from east to west along the emerald coast making their way to their breeding waters off coast of Louisiana.

Anglers from all along the emerald coast will be out scouting for pods of the fish in the clear Gulf waters. The basic approach is to cruise in the same direction of the migration at a speed just fast enough to overtake the fish, or in the opposite direction as slow as you can move. Boats have to be small enough to work in close, but big enough to handle the seas, and sometimes the surf.

Sight casting to the fish you want to try to catch is probably the coolest element.  It challenges your casting skills but is much more rewarding when you do it yourself.
Cobia are incredibly strong, and a fish loose on the deck can create some serious havoc, especially if one or two other anglers are still fighting fish. Sixty pounds of muscle flopping around and sliming the deck can knock you right off your feet.

The cobia is a prize catch in more than one way. As table fare goes, few fish can compare in texture and taste. Its white, firm flesh makes for easy grilling and some claim it naturally has a slight lemon flavor!

So start making your plans to come to the Luckiest Fishing Village World!  Destin, Florida has one of the largest fishing fleets in Florida.  Want to book a fishing trip checkout the Mother Lode and The Vengence and tell them I sent you!  These guys are the best and you will not be disappointed!
